Junior Pennant Round 3 Summary

On Saturday we were hosted by Royal Melbourne. We played the East Course which was looking magnificent with its wide fairways and incredible deep bunkers.  Unfortunately we lost 6 – 0, however 2 games went down to the wire at the 18th. Our number 1 player Jack Ning lost 1 down in a hard fought game from the beginning where neither player was more than 1 hole in front. Our number 6 Xavier Walmsley lost 2 down in the end. He was 1 up after the 15th but the experience of his opponent came through in the end.  Jack Blake went down 3&2, he played a steady game but just could not bridge the early gap in the match.  Daniel Semmens like Jack went down early and was just unable to get back and eventually going down 6&4. Both Jack Blake and Daniel had played earlier in days at Patterson River as both had qualified for round 3 of our Club Championships.   Young Brody Holland with his infectious smile had a great day, getting back to even mid round but eventually going down 5&4.  Brody Wanless just could not get the breaks going his way and had an early finish going down 8&7.  The team really enjoyed the experience of playing such a world class course even though we finished the day around 6.30 PM. Next week we will be at Latrobe Golf Club.

Till Then  Cheers Gary
